Eeee! Bagels!

I'm particularly proud of myself. I've made bagels xD something which I never contemplated before and thought I wouldn't be bothered to make BUT after being inspired by Anne's Bagel Recipe that she got from Smitten Kitchen I decided to make some myself. Though I made them plain rather than sweet. If these taste ok I may make some onion ones. And they've come out lovely :D! I must remember to grease the paper next time...Yeah hehe. As a consequence only a couple of nice bottoms on them hehe I haven't tasted them yet as they're still cooling but I think they'll taste lovely, they sure look tasty.

Anyway, I'm feeling better today, I've redone my blog to a much simpler one again. Also made an photo of mine into the header and it seemed to sort of, but not quite, make the blog a bit more personal. I shall master the editing of it one day. Never mind.

I still haven't got any pictures of my plants up yet, I've been promising to do it for the last few days. But it's been cloudy today so they wouldn't look as impressive anyway :P (excuses).

I shall leave you with some images of my bagels, which are a bit wrinkly hehe;

Update: They taste blooming lovely!!! :D

I'm sorry

I'm not feeling too well at the moment. Forgive me?
I'll be more interesting in the next few days possibly. Until then, bless and lots of love. Have fun and be creative.

:)

PS. Oh yeah, I want a new layout, this one just doesn't feel right. So expect a few shifts and changes at some point. Done.

PPS. Oh! And a Thank You! for everyone who has started following me lately, it's really lovely that some find me interesting enough to do such a thing, hehe. -Kiss~-

Tin Cans

I wish I didn't get so tired and headachey when I have my driving lesson days but the pressure is on and it's not long till my driving test now. I wish I could be positive about it but I'm getting so anxious :<

Ah well! Anyway there's been a few nice blogs that I've read today that have lightened my mood, just the overall positiveness of them made me smile. I shall definitely do something creative and interesting tomorrow now! Heh, besides showing my plants :3 My tomatoes are starting to go yellow finally!!! You don't know how excited it makes me. Oh and the carrots I planted from seeds tasted quite nice! Very fresh and crunchy :D And I'm impressed they didn't die hehe. My orchids are slow, I'm not sure why but I guess they'll just pootle along, there's still a few buds that need to come through.

Anyway, here's a view from my window to leave you with :) I'm sure there was more I wanted to blog about today but I just don't have the energy.

Bless.

My goodness

Things kept popping up yesterday that I wanted to blog about but I already had 2 posts didn't need another and then what would I have to blog about today? hehe.

Anyway I was going to show my plants today but I'll leave that for tomorrow or maybe Tuesday where I haven't got anything to do. But rather today I shall focus on something I created and I haven't been arty, like self inspired or self creative in such a long time D: Art block for the fail. It was going to be a self portrait and then I couldn't do my lips or anything else for that matter it was late, so then I decided to do anything. It isn't supposed to be "right" or anything but it was just letting my creative juices flow and see what came out the other side, and this is what happened:

And I'm definitely going to do more of it, I need to practise and get back into the habit of drawing because I want to, not because I have to or for anyone. This'll probably make my mindset better too. I have so much I want to create and portray but I just can't seem to let it out, it's about ready to burst but has no start point to leek from. I guess the first step is copying and I have tons of photo-face-references and some body structures of my own that I took a while back to help with a photography project so I'll be using them I guess. I need to get into my head that copying isn't always bad, (unless it's like blatantly the same as someone elses work and you're passing it off as your own, that's just wrong) So yes, knowing though I'll probably end up making another post soonish if I remember everything from yesterday. Hehe.

I wish the sun was shining but it's been an ok day nether the less :)

Edit: Thought I might add this one that I've just done while on this sort of topic :3 Enjoy
(You know, I may actually contemplate making an art blog out of my old URL or something....hm. Though there is my DA.)

Wheee

And here they are! The new glasses, plus some bits that I got from the car boot sale, I would have taken some images of all the plates and other stuff that I bought but they're wrapped up.

New glasses ~ yummy

Little basket~

Really nice knitted jacket/cosy jumper thingy. Love it!~

Really nice coat!~

I save the coat till last for a reason. This coat we got for £5 but it's original shop bought price is probably around £150+. Whoa! and the knitted thing was £2. My love for car boot sales is growing more and more as I visit them more hehe.

I hope everyone's start to the weekend is just as good. :)

Blogging public style

I'm in the library in town waiting for my glasses to be done at the moment. Should be done in about an hour or so. Went to the car boot sale today as well and picked up some good finds, a nice little tin for 10p and some plate sets for myself. Rather nice. ALSO! OH! A really great coat that was £5 which is usually like £200! Whoa O____O And I didn't buy it cause of that oh no it's cause it was nice and I wanted one a couple of years back but it was too expensive for me. I also got a top and a nice knitted coat thingy all of this amounted to £8 total...amazing eh? I think I'll frequent the humble car boot sale more often.

Anyway, I'll get a picture of my new glasses later this evening they're really nice, deep purple/maroon with light turquoise inner frame and a nice design on the sides. Wheeee, great day today it has been, woot.

Books

My mum bought an interesting book about old school ways to remember stuff, you know, like "i before e (except after c)" That's what the book is called actually. It's amusing, and brings back memories of learning all the little things in school to remember spellings and grammar and maths etc. I know my grammar and punctuation aren't as good as they should be but I try and I correct myself, but anyway there was a neat little poem in it that caught my eye that I would like to share, apparently the source is unknown;

I take it you already know,
Of tough and bough and cough and dough.
Others may stumble, but not you,
On hiccough, thorough, lough and through.
Well done! And now you wish, perhaps,
To learn of less familiar traps.
Beware of heard, a dreadful word,
That looks like beard and sounds like bird.
And dead - it’s said like bed, not bead,
For goodness’ sake, don’t call it deed!
Watch out for meat and great and threat,
(They rhyme with suite and straight and debt).
A moth is not a moth in mother,
Nor both in bother, broth in brother.
And here is not a match for there,
Nor dear and fear for bear and pear.
And then there’s dose and rose and lose
Just look them up – and goose and choose.
And cork and work and card and ward,
And font and front and word and sword.
And do and go and thwart and cart
Come, come, I've hardly made a start!
A dreadful language? Why man alive!
I’d mastered it when I was five.

But it's just lovely and witty. Pure brilliance. It's these sort of poems that I like to read, none of this serious stuff that they think is insightful and genius

Anyway, new profile image again lol I know. But I used to take a lot of images before and I need to get in the habit of updating it more for when I change. Also need to get round to writing out a few recipes in my personal recipe book. I sort of really want to do it and sort of don't as I have so many snippets from mags and bookmarked recipes from websites that I want to try or remember by jotting them down. I should bullet all this really.
I feel like doing a 4th piercing on my left ear, I'm not sure if you can see too clearly on that image but I already have 3 in there. I need to get round to actually REdoing a second one in my right ear lol but meh. The pain can wait another day as that's not on the top of my agenda at the moment.
There's another car boot sale on Saturday! Yay! :D I have fallen in love with them; all the old things and stuff that may seem useless to the person selling but may be just the thing for someone else! The idea and concept of it excites me. If that's the right word. Also all the low low LOW prices of everything, did I mention I got a lovely teapot for 20p? It's mad, but great.

Anyway, I'm sure thats all but if I think of anything it'll be up tomorrow or later or edited into here, hehe. :)

Funny

Been a funny ol' week. Dossing, not doing what I'm supposed to be doing, wishing I could take photo's and upload them, and not bothering to do my hair all week. Lovely. But when I get home it's back to the block for the next week or so and get my summer work out of the way so I don't have to worry about that on top of my driving test. I'm going to see about a gallery visits within the next week or so too for school work.

It's surprising me how long I'm lasting on just over £2 on my credit on my phone, but I'm not complaining, the longer I can go without having to top up the better. I've found some odd and great blogs across the net lately and followed a few too and I though I wouldn't be able to find any more blogs that I would find interesting to follow. I think I'll make another blog for my school work so everyone can see what I'm doing, not sure if they'd be interested but it'd be a good way of documentation. The only thing that I won't put up are my essays, for obvious reasons of plagiarism and such. I just need to get more involved with myself and get doing things.

I also plan on going to a lot more car boot sales. I love them, really. The amount of things there and prices it wonderful. I also like the fact of recycling something, reusing, plus the look of it, hehe. It's had a story and a life before it's come into my hands and it'll have another life in my hands and perhaps another after mine.

So yes, sorry for no images, I wish their were. Though I'll leave you with this I guess, it amused me, I hope it does you too :)

Indeed

Sorry for lack of an interesting post today but I'm not at my own house so I can't upload any nice types of images or anything like that. THOUGH I have got my new blog URL up and running and my new theme :D Woohoo.

Anyway I leave you with this, an image that came from about 10 minutes of larking about :P
Yay for curly hair xD

Bugs

Theres loads of them >.< Not that I mind bugs too much but they're just, in the way a lot. These tiny little black squirmy things keep landing on us and computer screens and you just notice this little spec moving across your screen and thin "Oh for goodness sake" A huge moth kept flapping around bumping into the ceiling last night while I was reading too. And it wasn't like it was small enough to not make any sound while bumping it was like "crash, bump, smack" every time 'cause of it's size. And my poor plants, well.

Anyway, travelling today, scone for breakfast x3 I hope I have everything I always manage to leave something behind when I go somewhere, it may not seem that important but I just like to have everything. Ah well.
:)

Wednesday 15 July 2009

Yes..

So yes, this is what I look like when I blog xD But NOW I have my new hair cut. I have an urge to post one of these like every now and then just to show myself blogging and how terribly interesting it is to see what I look like while doing it...

I don't always wear glasses, though I think I need to at times lol. Maybe glasses with plain glass in them, tehee >.> I need to make some more biscuits at some point, the last batch has finally ran out.

Yeah, I'm putting off stuff, Can you tell?

Tuesday 14 July 2009

Time

I've finally sorted out the time zone for my posts xD woohoo, it's now British standard time.

Just thought I might say hehe.

Homemade

What a nice word, with a nice meaning. Homemade. It reassures us of care and originality, organic and comfort, of skill and practise. I love the word and I want to be able to learn the crafts of being able to make many homemade items. I learnt how to wind wool properly today and that it is an art form in itself. And also that some believe it is best that you wind some wool yourself to get a feel of it and put a certain essence into it. So my nice but few wools I have have all been wound into balls and I'm pleased. There is just one massive skein that I have to wind now.

Anyway, talking of home made I made a Strawberry and a Tiny Heart :D Though I adapted the heart pattern for double pointed needles. I'm still learning about knitting, and I'm pleased with my progress. Yes I'm probably using the wrong needles and the wrong wool and all that sort of thing but I'm
learning. And despite that things are turning out the way they're supposed to. I've also been buying needles too to suit patterns I've found and hope to tackle at some point x3 Here's a picture:

I guess I'll just build up needles and wools and everything over time, of course. I hope to learn to Crochet at some stage too, though it seems 10 times harder than knitting hehe.

Tuesday 7 July 2009

Bring it on!

It's raining! Properly! At last!!!! And thundering, and lightening, it's so exciting :D! My poor plants can finally have a decent drink and the heat won't be back for a while, not until august anyway they say. (Though it may be wrong, meh) I need to get some plant feed for my tomato plant, it's going a bit...strange. The bottom leaves are going yellow and theres more and more tomatoes coming up on it so I think I should probably get the feed now to help feed all the plants babies (Which will be picked and eaten in a few weeks, mwuahaha)

I'm making another quiche at the moment, it's currently in the oven :3 Asparagus, onion and mushroom, we'll see how that combination comes out. Oh and finally got some red and green wool from school for the strawberries x3 I'll get set on trying to make them once my needles come in the post which will hopefully be SOON! (I was hoping today but never mind, maybe tomorrow :D)

School is...boring, der. Art i'm enjoying thoroughly though, maybe because I have a new teacher, I think thats more the case to be honest. It's all free and clean and they odn't know me and I can chat to them and YEAH! lol. I'm also sorting out our 6th form area and getting things done that should have been done before I even went into 6th form. Like a microwave for instance...I asked for one to be put in about 2 years+ ago and they still haven't so i'm trying to raise money for one, it's only £30 not a lot for something so useful. And me and a couple of friends are starting the kitchen box project. We're having a little box for us with some tea, sugar, coffe and hot cocholate in it so we can feel more comfortable at school. There other ideas which I have too but yup thats the jist of it.

I made this little phone thingy for Hayley too x3 I actually like it more than the one I made for myself so I'll be making another for me soon, all snazzy like this one. And thats basically all for the moment. Just hope the quiche comes out nice :)

No food

I made a curry today. After much frustrations and annoyances. Though I made it up as I went along so I think I can sort of remember it as I want to try and make it again. There was enough to freeze up and use for another meal sometime too :D I made pink rice with it. Rob approved hehe. And it was very satisfying. I was going to take a picture but we were so hungry that it was gone in moments, well not that fast but you get the idea.

We're doing a big shop tomorrow to get everything we need. Stock up on all the small yet important things and foods and stuffs. To be honest we need it, we have hardly anything in our cupboards that are easy yet tasty and I want to do some baking. I also need to stock up on some wools for knitting as i've been neglecting learning that recently, bad me.

I should really be doing school work but, but...Rob is here and....yeah i'm just being bad lol. It'll probably all be done on sunday or something knowing. Ah well heres the first page and beginning of second page.

Visual brainstorm of what I may like the study.

And then I decided on figures mainly so i'm doing a study on Da Vinci.

So yes, lots of things to be doing in the next few days.

I just can't understand it...

Why do people have to be vegans? OK, fine. You don't like animals being killed. But whats wrong with the things they produce naturally? Milk or butter isn't harming an animal. I guess you could argue eggs in a sense but they have no babies in them. The majority areunfertilised . I'm only just coming to terms of why people are vegetarians But I will never be able to tolerate vegans. It's just taking it a step too far.
I like food. I like all sorts of foods. So I would never fight against something by not eating. If I didn't agree with the way animals were being treated I would be tackling the problem more forcefully with legal action, evidence and publicity to get the place where they were being mistreated changed. So fair enough if you just don't like meat but what sort of reason is "I don't like the way they're being treated"? Buy free range, or actually go to these places where they do mistreat and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Not eating the produce will do nothing.

Please people, enjoy your food. Stop restricted yourself because of your over exaggerated views. Try new things, it's more than likely that you'd like them. Plus, despite what anyone says you DO need that balance diet to be healthy. You haven't got very long on this planet so why deprive yourself of anything. Try new things, learn new things, try and experience something new often. You'll be the richest person in the world for having life and wisdom.

On a different note those pots became to exspensive for me so no nice new plant pots for me :( Oh and I found a white moth on my white orchid so I decided to take some photo's:

Wednesday 1 July 2009

Noms

It's stupidly hot still, 32 degrees or something, urgh. I had to have the fan on last night it was so warm. Though we went for lunch today at a carvery and I guess it was alright but it was £3.50 a head so what do you expect. For what it was though it was nice, and they certainly weren'tstindgy with the meat.

I'm constantly amused and amazed by the different types of people on this blog,
how creative and funny some are and that they take it rather more seriously than I do. I wish I had something to show everyone and be proud of on here, maybe even sell. Would be nice to start up some sort of crafty-ness like that. Specially as I need the money. I need a plant pot for my new orchid but I can't afford it yet. Sad isn't it? Ah well, next month maybe, well, no. Pinch, punch, first day of the month :P So hopefullyI'll have some money soon. I'll get some more images of my orchids up soon, for the moment I'll give you an image of the one my boyfriend bought me :)

And heres a flower on the second one

I just need to do as little more washing today and clearing up and then I can relax and perhaps go for a walk in the evening when it's cooler.
